Palms whispering,
their leaves sway slow,
a gentle sea breeze
begins to blow.

The sky is warm,
in golden glow,
so peaceful
as the sun sinks low.

And with it comes
a silent vow:
tomorrow brings
a fresh new now.

Ethereal Passion

Softly woven petals
opening like secrets.
They reach, they wander,
they find the sun in their own way.

A longing to feel,
to truly connect.

There’s something wild about them,
something honest.
They bloom bold,
but only for a while.

Passion flowers,
almost not of this world -
fragile, almost floating,
like morning mist in gentle sunlight.

Ethereal passion,
it comes in moments,
in small, beautiful things.
A flower, a breath,
the way light moves through leaves.

Not loud, just real.

I painted in a field of flowers in France on antique linen and cotton and finished the painting in my atelier after returning home and then stretched the fabric on a frame… and I keep looking at her.

This painting is a lovely memory of a tiny island in the South of France. 

Beautiful sweeping white beaches and limestone cliffs frame a sanctuary of oak and pine trees teeming with chirping cicadas, butterflies and sprawling eucalyptus.

In a field of flowers

In the morning light, flowers bloom,

The morning dew glimmers beneath the sunlight 

Each petal greets the morning sun,

Soft whispers in the gentle breeze.

The meadow glows as day’s begun.

The beauty in each flower’s face.

A peaceful, colorful embrace.

 Slowly opening, revealing to the world.

Dancing in the morning light.

A world of wonder.

Inspired by my travels to Polynesia.

The ancient Greeks had two words for love: “eros” to describe sexual attraction and “philia” to capture the feeling of a person being an immensely close soulmate which is beautiful, because friends are important. Friendships can be as deep as being in love. It’s always been second nature to me to show my love and appreciation for those related or not, through words. Maybe we have to tell our friends, family and partners more often “I love you”.

Looking at a picture, allowing yourself to be absorbed, is quite similar to reading. Immersing into a story, diving in.

I love to get lost in reading books and I painted this artwork to remind myself to read more.

I painted this gingko in a vibrant orange, a color that bursts with positive energy and happiness. The color psychology of orange is optimistic and uplifting, inspiring creativity and rejuvenating our spirit.

I love the gingko tree in front of much house so much. In Japan the ginkgo’s fan-shaped leaf has caried symbolism along with its singular beauty: A symbol of growth, protection, peace, strength and hope, a symbol of longevity and a symbol of love.

Live for the tiny little things in life. Life is a series of thousands of tiny little miracles. Live for sunrises and sunsets. The sound of the ocean, the smell of the rain and starry nights. Live for the small words of praise, a smile. The tiny things like a good cup of coffee or a fresh smelling flower, a handwritten love note or the smile of a stranger. Live for the tiny things in life, because they will make you realize that this is what life is about. Let’s dance in the sunlight, wearing wildflowers in our hair. Live for the tiny little things.

A Moment in Time. She sits there, gazing into the distance, her hair blowing softly in the wind. Maybe she’s by the sea, maybe somewhere else in nature. She doesn’t think from fear, she simply is. Calm, still, breathing.

‘A moment in time’, where nothing needs to be fixed, changed, or rushed. Just the quiet truth of being alive, held in that fragile space between one breath and the next. A soft pause in the noise of the world, where the heart can rest. A lovely reminder.
