The ancient Greeks had two words for love: “eros” to describe sexual attraction and “philia” to capture the feeling of a person being an immensely close soulmate which is beautiful, because friends are important. Friendships can be as deep as being in love. It’s always been second nature to me to show my love and appreciation for those related or not, through words. Maybe we have to tell our friends, family and partners more often “I love you”.

I love the gingko tree in front of much house so much. In Japan the ginkgo’s fan-shaped leaf has caried symbolism along with its singular beauty: A symbol of growth, protection, peace, strength and hope, a symbol of longevity and a symbol of love.

Live for the small words of praise, a smile. The tiny things like a good cup of coffee or a fresh smelling flower, a handwritten love note or the smile of a stranger. Live for the tiny things in life, because they will make you realize that this is what life is about. Let’s dance in the sunlight, wearing wildflowers in our hair. Live for the tiny little things.
