I always had a thing for reusing materials. When I was younger, I inherited boxes of old treasures from my grandma and grandpa who was a painter too. From brushes, to ribbons, from paper to sewing templates. For this abstracted landscape artwork, I used their antique paper mixed with found paper from Canada and cut-outs from my old paintings. Dream away in a coral and chocolate landscape.

Live for the tiny little things in life. Life is a series of thousands of tiny little miracles. Live for sunrises and sunsets. The sound of the ocean, the smell of the rain and starry nights. Live for the small words of praise, a smile. The tiny things like a good cup of coffee or a fresh smelling flower, a handwritten love note or the smile of a stranger. “Sakura” means “cherry blossom”. Derived from the Japanese word “Saku” which means to bloom or smile. I love the tiny delicate pink flowers produced by cherry blossom trees. Beautiful flowers with a beautiful meaning as the Sakura blossoms represent a time of renewal and optimism.

I love the shades of brown in my home. It’s a warm rich color and blends so good with other shades and accents in my home. I love to add a little coral or pink like some fabric or candles. It’s like instant brightness and it’s beautiful with the brown artwork.

Brown is beautiful with complementary colors such as red or yellow-whites, dusky pink, lighter blue or sage green. The warmth of brown is associated with reliability, healing and strength. Brown associates with the earth, a calming and resilient element that keeps us quite grounded.

I love this proverbial phrase. Lemons suggest sourness or difficulty in life while making lemonade out of it is turning them into something positive and desirable.

Ginko is also associated with duality, a concept that recognizes the feminine and masculine aspects of all living things, ying and yang. In mythology, it’s the tree of live while the leaf is the symbol for love. Thus, a lovely gift for yourself or a loved one.
