I called this painting "The Giving Tree" because I painted it with ink made of the bark of a tree, so wonderful to create so close to nature.

I painted this painting on an early morning in Marrakesh at a little square, so her name is “Belle Matinée”. 

Early morning in the city. Marrakesh is waking up, sun is softly rising, the leaves of the palm trees are softly stirring. Soaking up the sounds and smells. The vegetable vendors, the donkey cards, bicycles and trucks that pass by. Soft pink morning light, so softly gleams. Beautiful morning.

Vers la Kasbah

The city awakens slowly.

Quiet mornings, and the first stirrings of life, the warm scent of fresh bread drifting through the alleys.

Soft rose-colored light, and the patina along the old walls.

With every small gate I pass, a new view unfolds, the light guiding me further in.

Then comes the beautiful square, where the palm trees cast their long morning shadows.

I love these gentle mornings… when the whole day still lies open before me.

 I’m inspired by the unique shapes of the mountains, the trees, the flowers and the beautiful underwater world, the coral wonders in shades of orange and pink.

This painting is inspired by a woman I met during my travels to the Caribbean coast of Nicaragua. Her eyes and facial expression were so captivating, so strong, so full of love. I sketched her a lot and finished this painting after coming back home to my atelier.

The ancient Greeks had two words for love: “eros” to describe sexual attraction and “philia” to capture the feeling of a person being an immensely close soulmate which is beautiful, because friends are important. Friendships can be as deep as being in love. It’s always been second nature to me to show my love and appreciation for those related or not, through words. Maybe we have to tell our friends, family and partners more often “I love you”.

I love watching the sunrise over the mountains. The sky coloured in all shades of pink before the sun starts to show. The mountains glowing and looking so magical.

I love the early morning dew on the flowers and fields sourrounding my home. Touched by the first sun strokes, they shine so brightly and create a magical atmosphere.

The first time I saw a palm tree, I immediately fell in love with their shape and form, which is why I included it also in my logo tinystories.

Jade is one of my favorite Gemstones. Considered one of the most precious stones of the East, it is said to strengthen love and happiness, balance and harmony. As a stone of the heart it is believed to help moving past wounds and fulfill dreams.
