Softly woven petals

opening like secrets.

They reach, they wander,

they find the sun in their own way.

A longing to feel,

to truly connect.

There’s something wild about them,

something honest.

They bloom bold,

but only for a while.

Passion flowers,

almost not of this world.

So fragile, almost floating,

like morning mist in sunlight.

Ethereal passion,

found in tiny small things,

fragile but real.

Not loud, just real.

I drew this portrait during one of my travels to the Atlas Mountains in Morocco as an homage to a young women I met in a small village. Her bright look and eyes filled my heart with joy.

Soft coral earth beneath

Threads of all that she is woven together.

Here and tomorrow,

Even when the night feels long,

The sun has promised

It will always return.

Her eyes sparkle,

Carrying the light.

The light of connection,

With all that surrounds her,

Through every layer of herself,

She carries the sun.
