I volunteered in the refugee camps on Lesbos in Greece. It touched me so deeply that I had to create an artwork out of these emotions and named it after a refugee from Syria: Aamer.

“Nongkrong” – in Indonesian language “relaxing & hanging out with friends”. At the time I was a student in Indonesia. We sat together with friends having coffee and talking. “Nongkrong” is all about the pleasures of sharing time with friends.

I believe that an art piece can make us feel joyful or strong and powerful or it can take us daydreaming into another world. I think that looking at art can relieve stress, helps you relax or stimulate your own creativity or imagination. My artworks are supposed to be peaceful happy places. This abstract is created in memory of the beautiful serene Kyoto. “Kasshoku” means brown and I love Kyoto with its traditional brown wooden houses and the temple surrounded by cherry blossom trees.
